Dear Fellow Student,
In 2007 the American Meditation Institute will complete its 11th
year of service. Since 1996, AMI has served over
1,800 students -- teaching practical skills to enhance personal,
professional and spiritual growth.
2006 was a very full year. In addition to sponsoring our
annual Guru Purnima celebration, hosting weekend retreats, several
noted speakers and our "Dinner and Movie" series, AMI
has continued to offer workshops and weekly courses on meditation,
easy-gentle yoga, the chakras, Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, and Yoga
Sutras. This past year Leonard's new book, The Heart and
Science of Yoga received four major national book
awards. In addition, Leonard presented informative workshops
on the health benefits of yoga science at the M.D. Anderson Cancer
Center, the Commonwealth Club of California and the Fordham
University Healing Circle in New York City. His courses were
endorsed by the New York State Nurses Association.
Clearly, Leonard and Jenness's vision of building an American
spiritual community based on the science of Yoga has become a
reality. Now, it is our turn to assure that this sacred
teaching continues to grow.
We are asking that you give your financial support by becoming an
active member of our AMI family. Whatever
membership level is comfortable for you will help immensely.
If you are in a position to make a contribution beyond the basic
membership rate, many people will benefit. But no amount is
too small.
If you feel you have personally benefited by reading the Transformation
journal or by attending any of our classes or events, we humbly
ask for your support now -- to keep the teaching of practical Yoga
Science alive.
We hope to hear from you soon.
With love and respect,
Melanie Uma Gloeckner, Mary Holloway, Doreen Howe and Lynn
Gretschel
